Abstract

Environmental pollution from uncontrolled dumpsites has become a major public health concern in Nigeria, especially due to the proliferation of multidrug-resistant (MDR) bacteria. This study investigates the resistance patterns and public health implications of bacterial isolates from dumpsite soil in Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria. The study aimed to isolate and identify bacterial species from dumpsite soil, determine their antibiotic resistance profiles, assess the prevalence of multidrug resistance, and explore the potential environmental and health implications of the findings. Soil samples were collected from a major dumpsite and subjected to microbiological analysis.
