Abstract

ABSTRACT This project presents the design and construction of a portable solar generator intended to serve as an alternative energy source, particularly in off-grid and emergency situations. The system integrates a 200W monocrystalline solar panel, a 12V 50Ah deep cycle battery, a 30A charge controller, and a 1000W inverter to provide efficient energy generation, storage, and conversion. The primary aim was to develop a compact and reliable power solution capable of powering small AC and DC loads such as LED bulbs, fans, and laptop chargers. The system was assembled and tested under real-life conditions. Results showed stable voltage output, efficient inverter performance, and a runtime of approximately 5.2 hours under a 120W continuous load. Charging tests under ideal sunlight conditions confirmed that the battery could be fully charged within a typical daylight cycle. The project successfully demonstrates the feasibility of using renewable energy for portable power needs and offers a sustainable alternative to conventional generators.
