THE IMPACT OF TEAMWORK ON ORGANIZATIONAL PRODUCTIVITY AT NIPOST

This study reviews the impact of teamwork on productivity using the Nigerian postal service (NIPOST) as a case study which faces challenges in harnessing the potential to improve productivity. The study aim to assess the impact of teamwork practices on organizational productivity like employees morale, job satisfaction and turnover intention in NIPOST. In carrying out this research study, primary and secondary sources of data collection were employed, while simple percentages was used to analyze the data collected through the administration of questionnaire from a sample of NIPOST, Akpakpava branch, Benin city, Edo State. Also, in carrying out the research, three research questions were adopted and two hypothesis were formulated. Findings revealed that effective teamwork has a strong positive relationship with increased organizational productivity particularly in promoting collaboration among team members, communication and mutual support to achieve goals and meet performance targets. The study concluded that fostering effective teamwork is crucial for NIPOST's modernization and competitiveness. Recommendations include investing in training to enhance communication and collaboration skills, motivation such as holiday retreats, increased salaries, recognizing efforts, promotion and implementing supportive technology to empower teams. This research highlights the importance of teamwork in improving NIPOST operational performance and adapting to the evolving demands of the postal sector.
