EFFECT OF AGRICULTURAL SUBSIDY ON BROILER PRODUCTION
Abstract
The study sought to examine the effect of agricultural subsidy on broiler production in Saki west local government, Oyo state. Structure interview scheduled was used to collect information from farmers. Multi-stage sampling procedure was used. A sample size of 109 respondents was used for the study. The result shows that about (22.93%) of the respondents age fell between 61and 70 years bracket. About (55.2%, 6.9%and 11.7%) of the respondents strongly agreed that increased in feed, drugs, transportation and policy restriction were effect of agricultural subsidy on broiler production. It further revealed that the majority of the respondent primary occupation earning is within 401,000-600,000. There is no significant relationship between the socio-economic characteristics of broiler farmers and their access to agricultural subsidies.
