Abstract

The research examined the effects of insecurity on national development in Nigeria 2022 till 2025. The research adopted a descriptive study, which involved the usage of quantitative tool – questionnaire – for data collection. The findings revealed that there was a significant relationship between insecurity and national development in Nigeria. The findings also revealed that there was a significant relationship between causes of insecurity and national development in Nigeria. It was also revealed that, there was a significant relationship between the effects of insecurity and national development in Nigeria. The research recommended among others that, genuine fight against corruption would be a viable tool to ameliorate the level of insecurity in Nigeria, Nigerian government should equip the Nigerian Armed Forces with modern weapons to be able to combat the terrorists and also protect infrastructures, schools and the territorial integrity of the country.
