Abstract

In any project process, one of the key elements is the selection of a suitable procurement methods for the implementation, design, construction and completion of the project. This key decision will be made arising out of the strategic brief for the project. The selection of the procurement approach is very important to the successful completion of any construction project. The selection of an appropriate procurement methods is one of the most important problems in the construction sector. The need for selecting and using appropriate procurement methods for a particular construction project, together with the proliferation of differing procurement methods, calls for more systematic methods of selection. Hence, the study assessed the impacts of procurement methods on construction cost in Oke-Ogun area of Oyo State with a view to improve the efficiency of project delivery in the study area while the specific objectives are to identify the factors affecting procurement methods in the construction industry in Oke-Ogun area of Oyo State, assess the impacts of procurement methods on construction cost in Oke-Ogun area of Oyo State, and proffer ways of improving procurement methods on construction cost in Oke-Ogun area of Oyo State. Related literatures were reviewed. The study population includes consultant Architect, Consultant, Builder, Consultant Quantity Surveyor and other stakeholders
