EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION FOR ORGANIZATIONAL

ABSTRACT This study sought to investigate the effective communication for organizational survival; citing First Bank Nigeria Plc, Asaba as it case study. The broad objective of the study is to investigate effective communication for organizational survival, while the specific objectives are to; investigate the relationship between effective communication and organizational survival, examine the effect of communication techniques on organizational survival, and ascertain the effect of communication gap on administration structure procedure. The research questions and hypothesis are in line with the objectives of the study. Descriptive survey research design was used to carryout the study; the total population of the study was 80, while the sample size of 70 was drawn with Tayo Yamane formula, structured questionnaire was use for data collection. The data was test with simple percentage. It was revealed through the findings that; there is a significant relationship between effective communication and organizational survival, communication techniques has significant effect in enhancing organizational survival, and communication gap has a significantly affects administration structure procedure. The study concluded that effective communication is an essential tool for organizational survival. No doubt, low productivity, loss of customers, low turnover, conflict and absenteeism are caused by poor and ineffective communication. The study also recommends that managers are advised to spend much time when it is necessary in communicating verbally to their subordinates at First Bank because it enhances proper understanding of the message.
