I MANAGEMENT STRATEGIES OF PRINCIPALS IN RESOLVING STUDENTS CONFLICTS IN SECONDARY SCHOOLS IN YOLA NORTH LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA
Abstract
This study investigated the management strategies employed by principals in
resolving student conflicts in secondary schools in Yola North Local Government
Area. A total of 72 questionnaires were administered to principals, teachers, and
students in 10 selected secondary schools in the area. The results showed that
principals in the area primarily use mediation, counseling, and punishment to
resolve student conflicts. However, the study revealed that these The study concludes
that effective conflict resolution strategies are crucial for creating a conducive
learning environment and promoting academic achievement. The study concludes

should adopt the most the most optimal approach in handling students’ conflicts in
order to forestall occurrences, should be seminar or conferences for school
principals at intermittent periods on conflict resolution both for staff and students,
and the general causes of conflicts should be in nipped on the bud since conflicts is
no respecter of location.
