THE PROBLEMS OF ORGANIZATIONS AND ADMINISTRATION OF SPORT IN SECONDARY SCHOOL IN BOKKOS LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA, PLATEAU STATE, NIGERIA
Abstract
This study is designed to determine the problems of organizations and administration of sport in secondary school in Bokkos Local Government Area, Plateau state, Nigeria. The importance of sport in the socio-economic and political life of a people has been stressed but the use of certain substance (drugs), tend to disturb this goal. Literature is revealed on the concept of sports in secondary schools, challenges in sports organization and administration. A self-constructed questionnaire was used to collect data, after sampling the respondents through a simple random sampling technique. Data is analysed using frequency counts and percentage. The result of the study has showed that secondary schools in Bokkos Local Government Area do organize Intramural and participate in extramural sport competition. Based on the finding, it was recommended that There should be provision of fund from both the federal and state government to secondary schools all over the country for the purchase of sports equipment
