LABORATORY STUDIES OF EEFECT OF TRICHODERMA HARZIANUM CULTURE FILTRATE ON ROOT-KNOT NEMATODES INFECTING FOUR VARIETIES OF TOMATO PLANTS
Abstract
In this research, the laboratory study of the effect of T.harzianum on root-knot nematode was carried out in Crop Protection Laboratory and in the faculty of Agriculture screen house to check for the efficacy of T.harzianum as a control agent on root-knot nematodes with a view to providing a solution to the hazard nematodes cause to Tomato (Lycopersicum esculentum) and curtail the loses it incurs on farmers. Parameters such as gall index, root weight, root length, biomass were taken to ascertain the effect of T.harzianum on root-knot nematodes infecting UC82B, UTC, ROMA and RIO varieties of tomato.
