Abstract

This study examined effect of talent and skills management on organizational performance. Survey research design was employed and questionnaire was used as the research instrument. Moreover,simple random sampling technique was used to select one hundred and fifty (150) respondents among staff of Dangote Sugar Plc while one hundred and ninety forty five (145) copies of the questionnaire were fully completed and returned.Simple percentage was employed to analyze the responses of the questionnaire while Pearson Moment Correlation was used to test the hypotheses formulated.However,it was found that there is significant effect of talent attraction on organizational performance,there is significant effect of talent retention on organizational performance and also that there is significant effect of learning and development on organizational performance.It is therefore recommended that organizations should always upgrade their policies and practices about their talent management system in order to come out with an effective ways to always retain and enhance the talents of the employee.It was suggested that future research should be conducted on the outputs and effects of those TM practices.That can facilitate to assess the effects of TM practices on individual and organizational performance. In order to define dimensions of TM,conducting an empirical study which includes the implantation ofpractices may be fruitful
