ASSESSMENT OF THE PREVALENCE AND PREDICTORS OF HYPERTENSION AMONG THE ACADEMIC STAFF IN TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS IN IBADAN, OYO STATE
Abstract
Hypertension remains a major public health challenge globally and in Nigeria, with rising prevalence and low awareness among seemingly low-risk groups such as academic professionals. Despite their presumed health literacy, this population may be silently at risk due to lifestyle and occupational stressors. Understanding the prevalence and predictors of hypertension within this group is therefore crucial for targeted prevention and intervention strategies.
