EFFECTS OF BANDITRY ACTIVITIES ON RURAL DEVELPOMENT IN GORONYO LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA OF SOKOTO STATE,NIGERIA

The study investigate the effect of bandits activities towards the development of rural activities towards the development of rural areas in Goronyo Local Government Area of Sokoto State. Three research objectives and Three research questiois were raised to guide the study. Descriptive survey research desigh was adopted for the study. The population of the study was four hundred and sixty (460) subjects out of which three hundred and fourty one (341) were selected through Research Adviser, (2006) table for determining sample size to serve as the sample size. .Two research instruments were used for the collection of data of the study. The data collected for the study were analysized using simple descriptive statistics and percentages. While data collected through FGD were analysed using contex grouping. The finding reveled among others that bandits activities had directly affected farming,crops preparation and plantation,trading and animal rearing.the study recommend the deployment of security personal to the affected community,liased with councelling psychologist for proper counselling and theraphy to the affected members of the community and proper advocacy and enlightenment for the use of E-banking to minimized attact on bank premises.
