IMPACT OF AN INCREASE IN SALARIES AND FRINGE BENEFITS ON THE PERFORMANCE OF WORKERS INTHE PUBLIC SECTOR IN ONDO STATE (A STUDY OF OWO LOCAL GOVERNMENT COUNCIL)

This research project is designed to examine the Impact of Increase in salaries and fringe benefits on the performance of workers in the public section with particular references to Owo Local Government Council. Some of the specific objectives include; to examine the effect of increase in leave bonus, housing loans, car loans, transport allowance and increase in salaries on the performance of workers In other to achieve the objectives stated above some related literature were reviewed. Population for the study was identified and sample sizes were selected. Questionnaire were designated and administered. Adequate data were analyzed through frequency distributions, tables and simple percentages, from the analysis carried out the following findings were made: - increase in leave bonus, adequate transport allowance, provision of housing loans enable worker to contributes maximum capacity toward the attainment of organization objectives. Following the above findings, the following recommendations were made: - there should be remunerations design structure for the workers on how they should be collecting some benefit such as leave bonus, transport allowance, car loans and housing allowance in order to perform effectively.
