PRODUCTION OF AGBADA USING BROKEN MIRROR AS SURFACE EMBELLISHMENT.

This Study focuses on the production of Agbada with broken mirror as surface embellishment. The study is motivated by the need to embellish Agbada with not just embroidery. It is concerned with the determination to embellish Agbada attire with broken mirror for better appreciation and Patronage. The main objective of the study is to identify the traditional origin and essence of Agbada attire also to identify and utilize the appropriate materials and techniques in the embellishment and production of the attire. The researcher used explorative and experimental design methods and observation, Internet source and photograph in the collection of data. The study established that broken mirror can be used for embellishment of Agbada attire and can also be incorporated in other traditional attires. It was also found that there is no restriction for anyone who may wish to conduct research on the rich cultural heritage in the costume and traditions of Nigeria and other African Countries. It was also found that the Study can result in entrepreneurship not only in Nigeria but in other African countries, which will be a source of revenue that could help to strengthen the economy. In Conclusion, It was recommended to other fashion student the need for further Study to explore other methods of garment and fabric embellishment using traditional motifs and the patronage of locally produced garments.
