PROBLEMS HINDERING THE EFFECTIVE E TEACHING OF BIOLOGY IN SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOLS IN MAIDUGURI METROPOLIS, BORNO STATE
Abstract
The aim of this research is to study the problems hindering the effective teaching of biology in senior secondary schools in Maiduguri metropolis, Borno state, it objectives is determine the relevance of well-equipped laboratory to the teaching of biology in the secondary schools, to determine the impact of regular test/assessments both practical tests and problems type tests on students' proficiency in biology and to determine the effect of the use of professional biology teachers (resources teachers) on the teaching of biology in secondary schools. The research used questionnaire methods in collecting the necessary data for the research, the students and staffs of the school were used in this research to obtain information, to establish certain concrete and reliable facts as regards the problem at hand. Recommendations were made on how best to address the problems to forestall future occurrence.
