Abstract

ABSTRACT This project presents the design and development of a Plastic Slicing Machine intended to enhance the efficiency of recycling and processing plastic materials. The machine is designed to slice plastic waste—such as bottles, containers, and sheets—into uniform, manageable strips or flakes that are suitable for further recycling processes like extrusion, melting, or re-molding. The system incorporates a motor-driven rotary blade mechanism enclosed within a safety housing to ensure operational safety and consistent slicing performance. Key features include adjustable slicing thickness, material feeding guides, and a simple user interface for ease of operation. The primary objective of the machine is to support small-scale recycling initiatives and reduce plastic waste handling time, while maintaining low production cost and energy efficiency. Testing demonstrated effective slicing of various plastic types including PET, HDPE, and LDPE, highlighting its potential for application in waste management, educational institutions, and small-scale plastic recycling plants.
