IMPACT OF UTILIZING ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN IMPROVING STUDENTS' PERFORMANCE IN CHEMISTRY (A CASE STUDY OF NORTHWEST UNIVERSITY KANO, KANO STATE).
Abstract
This study was designed to investigate the impact of utilizing Artificial intelligence (AI) in improving students’ performance in chemistry (A case study of Northwest University Kano). The researchers raised four research purpose as well as questions to guide the study. A descriptive survey designed was employed, using chemistry students under faculty of education, across all levels to collect the data. The questionnaires were also used as an instrument for data collection. 385 students were used as a sample of the study. The researchers used frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation in analyzing the data collected from the respondents. The findings of the research shows that, Artificial intelligence tools improve the performance of students in chemistry, high cost associated with AI tools hinders student's ability to access AI tools and poor internet connectiivity is also a major hindrance. The study recommended that, the university should invest in reliable internet connectivity and provide affordable access to AI tools for students to reduce the financial burden, and that faculty members and students should undergo training to build technical expertise in using AI tools effectively, among others.
