Abstract

Abstract This study examined Technology Skills and Secretaries’ Information Management Effectiveness in Business Organizations. Three research objectives, three research questions and hypothesisguided the study. The research design used in this study was survey. Simple random sampling technique was used to select 50 respondents out of 100 which formed the population. The research instrument used for data collection was a questionnaire titled, “Technology Skills and Secretaries’ Information Management Effectiveness in Business OrganizationsQuestionnaire (TSSIMEBOQ)”. The validity of the instrument was ascertained by my supervisor. Data from the 50 completed questionnaires were used for data analysis. Data generated for the study were analyzed using chi square (X2) statistics. The findings indicated that internet, e-mail services and Word processing influence Secretaries’ information management effectiveness in business organizations. The study recommends that Office Technology and Management graduates should make it their sole aim to acquire word processing skills at all cost to avoid jeopardizing their career.
