COMMUNICATIVENESS OF PORNOGRAPHY MOVIE SITES ON SEXUAL BEHAVIOURS OF YOUTH IN IKOT EKPENE LGA

ABSTRACT This study was on communicativeness of pornography movie sites on sexual behaviours of youth in Ikot Ekpene LGA. For the study to have focus, research questions were formulated and objectives were set among which were to, find out the extent youths in Ikot Ekpene are exposed to pornography movie sites, ascertain the avenues youth in Ikot Ekpene watch pornography movie sites and to Find out what motivate(s) youth of Ikot Ekpene to watch pornography movie sites. The study adopted a survey research design,a sample size of 360 was selected through the cluster sampling technique. More so was used to gather data. Among the findings of the study were; Ikot Ekpene youths are deeply exposed to pornography and that they watch pornographic not always, that the sex styles attract them to pornographic movies, also that sex positioning, motion, action, storyline are other motivating factors. Based on the findings, it was recommended that Schools in Ikot Ekpene should implement robust sexual education programmes that focus on healthy relationships, consent, and emotional intimacy. These programmes should complement the biological aspects of sex education with discussions about expectations, mutual respect, and the implications of viewing pornography.
