PUBLIC RELATIONS STRATEGIES IN CONFLICT MANAGEMENT IN ESSIEN UDIM LOCAL GOVERNMENT COUNCIL
Abstract
This study focused on Public Relations Strategies in Conflict Management in Essien Udim Local Government Council. The objectives of the study were to; to determine whether there is a public relations unit in Essien Udim L.G.A, to find out how Essien Udim Local Government Area practice public relation, to examine the strategies Essien Udim Local Government Area use to carryout public relations, to determine the effects of public relations on conflict management of Essien Udim Local Government Area. Data was gathered through the use of a structured questionnaire. Stratified sampling procedure was used and 28 respondents were used for the study Findings revealed that Essien Udim Local Government Council engage in public relations practice. The public relations unit set up in Essien Udim Local Government Council is well organized. The study recommends that The management of Essien Udim Local Government Council should remit adequate fund to the public relations unit in order to ensure effective public relations practice. Public relations should be recognized as one vital management function in Essien Udim Local Government Council and in Nigeria as a whole.
