Abstract

Cassava cultivation and trade have been pivotal to the socio-economic development of Osele Market in Ikare-Akoko from 1990 to 2020. They have provided livelihoods for numerous farmers and traders, with women playing a significant role in processing and marketing activities. The cassava industry has generated employment opportunities, spurred economic growth, and increased revenue for the community. However, challenges such as inadequate infrastructure, financial constraints, and market fluctuations have hindered the sector's full potential. Addressing these issues through improved infrastructure, financial support, and market stabilization strategies is essential for sustaining and enhancing the benefits of cassava cultivation in the region
