SOME AHADITH OF ABU HURAIRAH ON MARRIAGE AND ITS INFLUENCE TO CONTEMPORARY MUSLIM YOUTH IN KATSINA METROPOLIS
Abstract
Imam al-Shafi'i defined hadith in a technical sense as the sayings, actions, and approvals of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), transmitted by reliable narrators. Imam al-Bukhari, a prominent hadith compiler, defined hadith more comprehensively as any statement, action, approval, or description of the physical characteristics or behavior of Prophet Muhammad. Some scholars emphasize the role of hadith as a source of legislation. They see it as a practical application of the Quranic principles in the life of the Prophet, providing guidance for Muslims in various aspects of life. Imam Malik viewed hadith as a means to understand the Sunnah (the practices and traditions) of the Prophet, considering his life as a living example of the Quranic teachings. Some scholars highlight the role of hadith in preserving and explaining the revelation. Hadith is seen as a complementary source to the Quran, helping to clarify and elaborate on the meanings of the Quranic verses.
Scholars involved in the science of hadith (Hadith Sciences) emphasize the authentication and classification of hadiths based on their reliability. They focus on scrutinizing the chain of narrators (Isnad) and the content (Matn) to determine the authenticity of a particular narration.
