IMPACT OF STAFF DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME ON EMPLOYEES PERFORMANCE (A STUDY OF FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC OFFA)
Abstract
This study examines the impact of a staff development program on employee performance at Federal Polytechnic Offa, focusing on how such initiatives influence productivity, skill enhancement, job satisfaction, and motivation. Through a combination of surveys, interviews, and performance data analysis, the study assesses employee perceptions of the program's relevance and effectiveness, as well as any observable improvements in their work output and job engagement. Key findings suggest that the staff development program positively impacts employee performance, particularly in terms of enhanced skills and increased job satisfaction, though certain limitations, such as resource constraints and variability in training content, were identified. The study highlights the importance of tailoring development programs to meet the specific needs of different departments and roles, as well as implementing a feedback system to ensure continuous improvement. Recommendations include expanding training formats and tracking long-term performance outcomes to refine the program's effectiveness. This research contributes to understanding the role of staff development in academic institutions and offers suggestions for future studies to further explore the long-term impact and optimal methods for enhancing employee growth and institutional success.
