STRATEGIC PLANNING AND CORPORATE PERFORMANCE OF SELECTED DEPOSIT MONEY BANKS IN ONDO STATE. AKINSANMI BOLARINWA EVELYN
Abstract
This study examines the impact of strategic planning on corporate performance in selected deposit
money banks in Ondo State, Nigeria. Strategic planning, as a fundamental management tool, is
often employed to align organizational resources with business objectives to achieve long-term
success. Despite the increasing emphasis on strategic planning in the banking industry, its tangible
impact on corporate performance remains under-explored, particularly within the Nigerian
context. This study seeks to bridge this gap by analyzing how effectively deposit money banks in
Ondo State employ strategic planning and how this translates into measurable outcomes such as
profitability, operational efficiency, and market competitiveness.
