Abstract

ABSTRACT Hypertension is classified as a worldwide epidemic disease such and has led to the increased clinical prescriptions of antihypertensive medications especially the calcium channel blockers (CCBs). Calcium Channels Blockers have been implicated in report to be associated with oligospermia. To investigate the rolw of date extract in amlopipine induced oligospermia, thirty male wister rats were segregated into six groups (n=5). Group 1 (control), Group 2 (5mg amlodipine), Group 3 (10mg amlodipine), Group 4 ( 5mg amlodipine + date syrup), Group 5 (10mg amlodipine + date syrup), Group 6(Date syrup only).
