DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION OF INTERNET OF THINGS BASED HOME AUTOMATION
Abstract
ABSTRACT
This project focuses on the development and implementation of an IoT-based system for the remotemonitoringandcontrolofhomeappliances.Theprimaryobjectivewastocreateauser- friendly and efficient solution that enables homeowners to manage their household devices from a remote location using a smartphone. The system was designed and built around a NodeMCUmicrocontroller, whichservedasthecorecomponentforconnectingtotheinternet and facilitating communication between the appliances and the user.
A four-channel relay module was integrated into the system to interface with the home appliances, allowing for the control of multiple devices simultaneously. The Blynk mobile applicationwasemployedastheuserinterface, providinganintuitiveplatformformonitoring and controlling the appliances in real-time. The app's customizable widgets and easy integration with NodeMCU made it an ideal choice for this project.
During the implementation phase, the system was successfully developed and tested under various conditions to ensure reliability and responsiveness. The NodeMCU was programmed usingtheArduinoIDE,andtherelaymodulewasconfiguredtooperatebothmanuallythrough physical push buttons and remotely via the Blynk app. The system demonstrated stable performance, with the ability to remotely switch appliances on and off, monitor their status, and receive notifications about any changes in their operation.
The completed project highlights the potential of IoT technologies in enhancing the convenience and energy efficiency of modern homes. The successful implementation of this system provides a foundation for further development, such as integrating additional sensors for environmental monitoring or expanding the system to manage a wider range of household devices.
