DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF AN ONLINE AUCTION SYSTEM APPLICATION
Abstract
This study developed an auction system application that can be used by students within the
university (University of Jos). The application provides users with the ability to buy and sell
goods or services through an online bidding process. The study involves designing an intuitive
user interface, user authentication, item listing, bidding functionality, implementing secure
transaction process and ensuring the smooth flow of the auction process from start to finish,
Special attention will be given to ensuring a seamless and user-friendly interface, encouraging
widespread participation among students with varying technical backgrounds. The results
revealed that the application seeks to empower students by providing them with a convenient
and secure platform to buy, sell, and exchange resources, ultimately enriching their academic
and social experiences. The study concluded that using the system will help serve as a model
for other educational institutions looking to enhance student collaboration, reduce financial
burdens, and promote sustainability through technology-driven solutions.
