Abstract

ABSTRACT The research work analyzed level of lead, cadmium, and Nickel in two of water based paint(Emulsion)sold in Sabin Garu Zaria market.The paint samples were digested and concentration of heavy metals are determined using Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS)The level of the cadmium in the whole samples are found to be below the permissible limit of 70 ppm by Standard Nation of Organizations (SON,2106)While the concentration of lead&nickel are higher that the permissible limit of 90 ppm&40ppm. By Standard Organisation of Nigeria (SON). It was also found that magnetor colour paint has higher concentration of the heavy metal than peach colour paint.
