ENTREPRENEURSHIP EDUCATION AS A DETERMINANT OF EMPLOYABILITY AMONG BABCOCK UNIVERSITY STUDENTS

ABSTRACT This study examined entrepreneurship education as a determinant of employability among students in Babcock University and the purpose/intention of this study is to examine the relationship between entrepreneurship education and employment in Nigeria and the role of entrepreneurship towards economic development. For this study, Four (4) research questions and two (2) hypotheses were raised to guide the study. Several literatures from different authors were reviewed. The study adopted descriptive survey research design to collect and analyze data. The population consists of all students in Babcock University, Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State. Sample of two hundred (200) students were randomly selected across the faculties in the university through the use of simple random sampling technique. Questionnaire was used as instrument for data collection in this study. Data collected from the sampled respondents was analyzed using frequency count and simple percentage and hypotheses was tested using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) at 0.05 level of significance. Findings of this study revealed the relationship between entrepreneurship education and employability among university students. The study also revealed planning entrepreneurship education for the employability of Nigeria youths. The study concluded that the major aim of entrepreneurship education is to encourage students' academic, social, emotional and personal development and also to bring about employability.
