Abstract

The design and implementation of a Tracking Management System (TMS) at MTN is aimed at improving operational efficiency, reducing asset loss, and optimizing resource allocation. The project explores the integration of technologies such as Global Positioning System (GPS), Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), and Internet of Things (IoT) into a centralized system that provides real-time tracking and management of assets, including fleet vehicles, equipment, and inventory. By leveraging cloud computing and real-time data processing, the TMS ensures that MTN can monitor asset locations, usage, and conditions, leading to improved decision-making, cost savings, and streamlined operations. The system's development followed the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC), which includes phases such as system design, deployment, and testing, ensuring a smooth and efficient rollout. Furthermore, the integration of the TMS with MTN's existing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system enables seamless coordination between different departments and business processes. The results show significant improvements in asset management, including increased tracking accuracy, reduced operational costs, and improved resource optimization. The implementation of the system at MTN sets a precedent for leveraging technological solutions in large organizations to enhance asset tracking and management. Keywords: Tracking Management System (TMS), Asset Management, Global Positioning System (GPS), Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), Internet of Things (IoT), Cloud Computing, Real-Time Data Processing, System Integration.
