Abstract

ABSTRACT Tourism is a vital sector that contributes significantly to economic development and cultural exchange, yet many regions struggle to effectively promote and manage their tourist attractions. This project presents the design and implementation of a Tourism Management System (TMS), a web-based application developed to enhance tourism services in Plateau State, Nigeria. The system allows users to explore various tourist destinations through an intuitive interface integrated with OpenStreetMap, which provides navigation and detailed location information. Core functionalities include user registration and authentication, tour booking, and secure online payment processing. Additionally, an administrative dashboard is provided to enable administrators to manage users, bookings, and destination data effectively. Developed using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and MySQL, the system ensures a user-friendly experience, scalability, and security. By connecting tourists with service providers and simplifying the planning and booking process, this Tourism Management System enhances accessibility and supports the growth and sustainability of the tourism sector.
