Abstract

The epileptic nature of power supply and it's detrimental effects have extended to even higher institutions that academic activities are deterred most times. This is called for alternate sources of power supply. This project work is on design and installation of 2.5KVA power inverter with two (100Amp) deep cycle battery, it presents a setup that allows the use of power in an event interruption in an already existing one in the office of head of department of electrical and electronic engineering, Abia State University. The setup consists of 2 (100) ampere deep cycle, 2.5KVA power inverter, 10mm and 2.5mm cable. The system is so designed that it powers the office as soon the solar system energy drains and ensures stability in providing a continues power supply. The results of the test show the effectiveness and reliability of the inverter system in meeting the backup power needs of the department.
