GEOLOGICAL INTERPRETATION OF WELL LOGS INSIGHTS FROM DAVE OIL FIELD, NIGER DELTA
Abstract
This study presents a geological interpretation of well log data from Dave Oil Field located in the Niger Delta Basin. The research integrates gamma ray, resistivity, density, neutron, and sonic logs to evaluate lithology, reservoir properties, fluid content, and hydrocarbon potential. The Niger Delta is characterized by alternating sequences of sandstone and shale deposited in fluvio-deltaic environments. Through qualitative and quantitative log analysis, key reservoir intervals were identified and evaluated for porosity, permeability, water saturation, and hydrocarbon saturation. Results indicate the presence of productive sandstone reservoirs with moderate to high porosity and favorable hydrocarbon saturation. The study demonstrates the effectiveness of well log interpretation in reservoir characterization and hydrocarbon exploration in the Niger Delta Basin.
