Abstract

ABSTRACT The project aims to build an energy efficient light control system. The light dependent resistor is suitable to detect the levels of ambient light, which is given as input to a circuit to control the lighting system. This project demonstrates the concept of ambient light level based control using light emitting diodes (LED). The design and the theory has been initially explained and verified by the computer circuit simulation software. Further, the concept has been demonstrated using a real hardware circuit under various operating conditions. Also, we have tried to emphasize the relevance of this concept with an example showing the economic advantages when such a system will work in a real life scenario. The results show the energy efficient light control system has the potential to save energy, resulting in reduced lighting costs.
