Abstract

The growth performance and blood lipid profile of the fish such as Clarias gariepinus ( African cattish), can be influenced various factor including diet and nutritional additives. The objectives of this study was to design set up controlled experiments in aquaculture facilities. The Clarias gariepinus juvenile were obtained from the fish hatchery at Federal University of Technology Akure Farm in Ondo State. The fish were transported in a oxygenated 25liter bowl to Hatchery at the Department of Animal and Environmental Biology, Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, Ondo State and was immediately transferred into a plastic pond for a period of three weeks for (acclimatization period) in the hatctery. Fish Were fed during acclimatization period with control diet (commercial feed) at five percent (5%) total body weight. The soluble hemoglobin powder, roseelle and Sorghum bicolor bought were milled and added to compliment fish meal using various graded levels. The experimental feed for C. gariepinus was formulated using pearson square method. The ingredients were mixed together in each protein inclusion level and water was added and mixed thoroughly. A Filtering machine was used in pelleting the feed using blower to reduce the moisture content it then sundried Each experimental feed concentrate was packed in a separate container and kept in a dried and cool condition to avoid fungal attack. The feed was collected kept separately in polethene bag based on various inclusion levels, Eight treatments including the control diet at varying inclusion levels were formulated. The growth performance Of Clarians gariepinus fed with different hematunic additives. The mean value of total initial are the same and there wws no difference between the treatments. Also, Mean Individual Weight (MIW) bad the same Incan value across the treatments and there was no difference bet"' ten Ille treatments when compared to each other, highest mean value of (42.80±0.12) at TO was recorded in NatWest Group (NWG), followed by TS with a mean value of (40.67±0.12), while the towegt mean value of (35.90±0.12) was noticed at T2.
