Abstract

This study investigates the effectiveness of capital market operations on the Nigerian economy. The capital market plays a vital role in mobilizing long-term funds for investment and economic development. The study adopts a descriptive research design using secondary data from financial reports and relevant literature. Findings reveal that capital market operations significantly contribute to economic growth by facilitating capital formation, enhancing investment opportunities, and promoting financial stability. However, challenges such as market volatility, low investor confidence, and regulatory issues limit its effectiveness. The study concludes that strengthening the capital market is essential for sustainable economic development in Nigeria.
