ASSESSMENT ON UTILIZATION OF CHAT GPT SOFTWARE FOR KNOWLEDGE ACQUISITION AMONG SCIENCE STUDENTS OF NORTHWEST UNIVERSITY, KANO
Abstract
ABSTRACT
The study was conducted on assessment of utilization of chart GPT software for knowledge acquisition among science students of Northwest University Kano. The study also used field survey method in which questionnaire has been used as the major instrument for data collection. The study population is 2793 science students of northwest university kano. The sample size of Three Hundred and Forty-Six (346) students as recommended by Research Advisors (2006). From the research findings, it has been discovered that the level of students’ acceptance to ChatGPT as a learning tool especially among science students of Northwest University, Kano is high. The study also discovered that the level of students utilization of GPTchat for knowledge retention is high. It finally, found that the potential challenges in implementing ChatGPT for knowledge acquisition among science students of Northwest University, Kano were related to the issue of Inadequate of interest by the students for using Chat GPT, Shortage of GPT chat supporting facilities, Unstable sources of power energy, Inadequate knowledge on how to operate Chat GPT and Internet/network instability. The study recommended that adequate provision of ChatGPT is need for research purpose among science students of Northwest University, Kano so as to improve students‟ understanding and performance. There is need for the university management to create special session for students orientation and knowledge sharing about the uses and application of ChatGPT for research purpose among science students of Northwest University, Kano.
