Abstract

Abstract This study investigates the effect of coconut water–based liquid organic fertilizer on the growth and yield of lettuce. The research was carried out to determine whether coconut water, which contains natural nutrients, vitamins, and plant growth hormones, can improve lettuce development when used as an organic fertilizer. Different concentrations of coconut water–based fertilizer were applied to lettuce plants, while plants without fertilizer served as the control. Growth parameters such as plant height, number of leaves, leaf size, and overall yield were observed and recorded during the experimental period. The results indicated that lettuce plants treated with coconut water–based liquid fertilizer showed better growth performance and higher yield compared to the control plants. This suggests that coconut water can serve as an effective, environmentally friendly, and cost-effective organic fertilizer for lettuce cultivation. The study therefore recommends the use of coconut water–based liquid fertilizer as an alternative to chemical fertilizers in lettuce production to promote sustainable agriculture.
