Abstract

Information Technology (IT) has transformed the way businesses promote their goods and services in modern economies. The use of digital platforms such as social media, websites, and mobile applications has made advertising more efficient, cost-effective, and accessible. This study examines the roles and contributions of information technology in the advertisement of goods and services in Ondo State, Nigeria. The research adopts a survey research design and collects primary data through structured questionnaires administered to business owners and marketing professionals. The findings reveal that information technology has significantly improved advertising strategies by increasing market reach, enhancing communication with customers, and reducing the cost of promotion. However, challenges such as limited digital skills, poor internet connectivity, and inadequate technological infrastructure still hinder the full utilization of IT in advertising. The study concludes that information technology plays a critical role in modern advertising and business growth. The study recommends increased investment in digital infrastructure and training programs to enhance the effective use of IT in advertising.
