DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT OF ARDUINO-BASED SYSTEM FOR REAL-TIME AEROSOL DETECTION
Abstract
This project focused on the design and development of an Arduino-based system for real-time aerosol detection capable of monitoring atmospheric parameters and gaseous pollutants such as CO₂ , SO₂ , CO, NO₂ , and O₃ . The system integrated multiple low-cost sensors with an ESP32 microcontroller to measure and log air quality data efficiently. Field testing across different locations confirmed its ability to continuously detect and record pollutant variations, providing reliable results comparable to conventional monitoring methods. The device offers a cost-effective solution to environmental challenges, supporting climate studies, health protection, and evidence-based policymaking. By making air quality data more accessible, the system enhances awareness, encourages proactive responses to pollution, and contributes to sustainable environmental management.
