Abstract
Abstract
The rapid advancement of technology and changing consumer preferences have reshaped the food service industry, with online food ordering systems emerging as a pivotal component. Web based Local Food Eatery ordering system is a process in which one can order\and get delivery of various local foods from some local Restaurants or Hotels through the use of internet just by sitting at home or anywhere in the world without the need for physical presence to purchase such food items. In this project, we have developed a web-based system that lovers of local foods like Nkwobi, Ugba, Shawama, Goat Pepper Soup, Snail Pepper Soup and Okporoko Ugba mixture can place order for their usual favourites and get them delivered right at their locations without visiting scene of preparation. This has potential benefits especially convenience for the customers who usually have tight daily schedules and therefore busy to physically go out for relaxations for such food items of their choice. The proposed system leverages modern web and mobile technologies to provide customers with an intuitive platform for browsing restaurant menus, customizing orders, making secure payments, and tracking order progress. It incorporates robust user authentication and authorization mechanisms to ensure data privacy and security. The system reduces manual work done in serving numerous customers who are usually on queue to physically place order of their favorite dishes and enhance customer management efficiency and minimize waiting time of customers. The Project was implemented using Waterfall Model Methodology with tools such as XAMPP, HTML5, CSS, PHPMy Admin SQL Database system as well as Ph Programming language due to their versatility in web development.
