ABSTRACT
Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) is an improvement over public-key cryptography
which is based on the algebraic structure of elliptic curves over finite fields. It can be
used to create faster and more efficient cryptographic keys. In this work, elliptic curve
cryptography was used to generate points and keys over a finite field with clear
examples. The keys generated were later used as a means of communication between two
users via Diffie Hellman key exchange. The work will no doubt give a clear
understanding of the Elliptic Curve Cryptography as the area is more of theory than
practical examples.
