Abstract

ABSTRACT This study presents the design and implementation of an open, distance, and flexible e-learning system, tailored to meet the diverse needs of learners in various educational settings. The system integrates cutting-edge technologies and pedagogical approaches to provide personalized, self-paced, and collaborative learning experiences. Leveraging open-source learning management systems (LMS), the platform incorporates adaptive learning pathways, interactive multimedia content, and real-time assessment tools. A modular architecture enables seamless integration of third-party services and plugins, ensuring scalability and flexibility. To ensure accessibility, the system adheres to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1) and incorporates responsive design. A user-centered design approach informed the development process, involving stakeholder engagement, usability testing, and iterative refinement. The resulting system supports diverse learning modalities, including mobile and offline learning, facilitating increased accessibility and learner engagement.
