Abstract

The Campus Lost and Found System for tracking lost items aims to simplify the process of reporting, locating, and recovering lost items within the Federal Polytechnic Offa campus. With the increasing number of lost items on educational campuses, this system is designed to help students, staff, and visitors report lost belongings and track their status efficiently. The system offers a user-friendly interface where individuals can easily submit details of their lost or found items, including descriptions, location, and time of occurrence. The system sends automated email notifications to users whenever an item is found, ensuring swift communication between the relevant parties. PHP is employed for server-side processing, managing user input, and sending email alerts, while JavaScript enhances the interactivity of the system. With the use of modern web technologies (HTML, CSS and Bootstrap), this solution improves the efficiency and effectiveness of lost and found operations on campus, contributing to better organization and student satisfaction. The system reduces the time and effort required to locate lost items, promoting a more efficient and secure campus environment.
