DESIGN REPORT ON DE-CHARITY ACADEMY; AT IGBOOROOKE, OFF ILOKO-IJESA RD; ORIADE LOCAL GOVT. AREA, OSUN STATE.

This report presents the architectural design and planning of a Junior Secondary School aimed at fostering academic excellence, creativity, and social development. The proposed school design incorporates essential learning facilities, including 16 classrooms, 9 laboratories, 5 administrative offices, and various recreational and support spaces. The project emphasizes ensuring proper ventilation, illumination, and spatial efficiency. The study explores the historical background of secondary education, both globally and in Nigeria, highlighting key policy influences and challenges. Case studies of selected schools, including Dansol High School (Nigeria), Heidenheim Waldorf School (Germany), and Corona Secondary School (Nigeria), provide insights into site planning, functional space arrangement, material selection, and design concepts. The findings reveal strengths and weaknesses in existing school designs, informing the proposed approach. A comprehensive site analysis of the proposed location in Igbooroke, Oriade Local Government Area, Osun State, Nigeria, assesses natural and man-made features, zoning, climate conditions, and utilities. The report also details spatial requirements, circulation patterns, and accommodation schedules to optimize usability and efficiency. The study underscores the integration of architecture and educational research to create an inclusive and adaptable learning environment. It concludes by recommending strategic planning, resource allocation, and policy improvements to enhance the quality of secondary education infrastructure in Nigeria.
