Abstract

ABSTRACT The characterization of biodiesel obtained from Palm Kernel Oil was carried out using ASTM analytical method, the parameter evaluated include density, flash point, acid value and dynamic viscosity. The results obtained revealed the physico¬chemical parameter Density (kg/cm3) to be 0.940 ± 0.069, Flash Point (°C) 109.50 ± 0.700, Acid Value (mg KOHg) 0.560b ± 0.703 and Dynamic Viscosity (Mpa. S) 9570.5 ± 3.535. This results were compared with American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) specification for biodiesel and flash point was found to be within the acceptable range while slight deviation in the other parameters were observed.
