Abstract

The study on the effect of NPK 15:15:15 fertilizer and poultry waste on the growth and yield of Abelmoschus esculentus was conducted at the Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic Botanical Garden. 3 beds each were made and 3 seeds of Abelmoschus esculentus were planted with not less than 10 stands making a total of 30 stands. The following treatment were applied on each of the beds as follows: bed 1 was poultry waste, bed 2 was NPK 15:15:15 fertilizer and bed 3 was control. After two weeks of germination these treatments were applied exception of control bed. The result for the parameter for mean height of plant was highest in poultry waste with mean height of 11.104+0.587 cm, followed by NPK 15:15:15 fertilizer with mean height of 9.188+0.554 cm and the least was control (no manure) with mean height of 8.919+0.746 cm with analysis of data showing significant difference at p
