AVAILABILITY AND UTILIZATION OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY IN TEACHING AND LEARNING ECONOMICS IN PUBLIC SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL IN TOFA LOCAL GOVERNMENT

The study mean to investigate the Availability and Utilization of Information Technology in Teaching and Learning Economics in Public Senior Secondary School in Tofa Local Government To identify the availability of Information Technology facilities for teaching and learning Economies in public senior secondary school in Tofa Local Government, Kano Stale. What are the IT facilities available for leaching and learning Economics in public senior secondary school in Tofa Local Government, Kano State? The population of the research area was public senior secondary school in Tofa Local Government and the population of the study is 17 Economic teachers from 15 different public senior secondary school in Tofa Local Government, Kano State In order to explore the impact of IT in teaching and learning economics, data were collection using questionnaire which was used to answer the research questions developed by researches. "Availability and Utilization of Information Technology in Teaching and Learning Economics in Public Secondary School" The questionnaire has four sections which include part A, demographic information, part B: items on availability of IT facilities for teaching and learning economic in secondary schools, part C, items on determining the impact of information ichnology in teaching and learning economics and part D; items on the level of usage f IT facilities in teaching am learning economics in Public senior secondary school in Tofa Local Government, and the questionnaire is four point scale which comprises SA: strongly agree, A: agree, D: disagree, SD strongly disagree, and the questionnaire is researchers made. The descriptive analysis will be use to analyze the data; each question will have its response coded by assigning codes of response for each of them. 'The responses will be categorized into themes based on research question an objectives. Categories of the questionnaire (sections and items) would be analyze using statistic such as, frequency and percentage. The study reveal (hat the IT facilities for teaching and learning, 2 economics in secondary schools of Public senior secondary schools in Tofa Local Government Kano state, are facially available because 77.5% of the respondents have agreed and the remaining 2 2.5% disagreed. In terms of the level of usage, the data presented in table 4.2.4abovt the majority 22.5% of the respondents have disagreed that there is effective use of IT facilities secondary schools of Public senior secondary schools in Tofa Local Government, Kano state, A they agreed that they can teach efficiently by using IT facilities in teaching and learner economics. And majority of (he respondents have agreed that teachers are adequately prepared, use computer presentation in classroom. The study recommended that, at the policy level, government should come up with use of IT policies, and encourages secondary schools teacher by providing all the facilities needed. There should be a provision of power supply in the school. The teachers should, be encourage to acquire enough computer skills during their stay or study in colleges and universities.
