Abstract

A solid foundation is the cornerstone of any successful construction project. In other to create a sustainable base for build, geotechnical analysis and parameters of soil must be done at the intended site. Understanding the elements and conditions present at your site will help to chart the course for the rest of the project. According to this report, a sample of soil was taken and subjected to series of laboratory test such as moisture content, specific gravity, grain size analysis, atterberg limit, compaction. A moisture content of 7.80 with liquid limit of 24.55 plastic limit of 24.9 plasticity index of 0.35% and specific gravity of 5.06 and compaction determination MDD0.2.This study shows that the soil is suitable for construction of building, roads etc. For the laboratory analysis test, the process of soil testing is a very sensitive process and it is only those who are specialized should be allowed to perform the test. This will prevent false result that may badly affect construction work
